What makes a good coffeehouse? Coffehouses have an ambience that extend beyond a cup of coffee. Your "coffee break" is a brief escape from your day's bustle. The coffeehouses listed below should have most or all of these elements:

  • The aroma of coffee roast wafting through the air as you walk in the door.
  • A handsome, inviting, or bohemian atmosphere and decoration - with a nook or two for intimate seating and conversation, or a vantage point for people-watching.
  • An enticing choice of tea, coffee, capauccino, and latte. Some might also like frozen drinks in the hot weather.
  • Coffeehouses that are co-loacted with books and art work, board games, etc. are people magnets.
  • A little background music: classical, jazz, vocal et al... NPR is cool too. Would live music be asking too much?
